Cinosam Park Long Range Plan – Request for Involvement

Cinosam parkMission Statement

To explore, evaluate and implement park and property improvements for the health, welfare and safety of the Cinosam general membership.  Improvements will focus on increased club membership, improve social and neighborhood involvement, and ensure property valuation for the club and also the individual member’s real property.

General Membership Initial Involvement Request

The Cinosam Board of Directors approved the formation of a Long Range Planning Committee at the 2015 Annual Meeting.  Initial discussions as a small committee have been directed toward bringing together ideas for park improvements and to gain some insight from Cinosam membership. It will be very important to seek sound ideas and explore all costs, requirements and benefits of each proposed project.  Projects may be large or small, may be quick and easy to implement, or may take several years to fund raise and develop.  While improving the park property appears as the primary focus, the actual long-term goal is to improve our community both in property and socially.  As one Cinosam resident described to me, to create a “Front Porch” for our community to meet and foster stronger community ties.

We have already received a handful of improvement suggestions; a large patio space overlooking the lake, a more park-like lawn with the internal roads removed and create parking along Paine Avenue, and also for a permanent structure of  some sort, ranging from a simple picnic structure to a larger pavilion-type structure.  We mention these here only as example and to help facilitate thoughts and conversation.  At this time, no idea is on the agenda for discussion, we simply want to hear from the general membership, all ideas for the future of our park.

With a broad rand of opinion existing within the club membership it will be very important to seek club membership involvement as well as board discussion and approval for any project that makes a significant change to our park or other club properties.  This club involvement request is an opportunity for the general membership to make suggestions toward the future of our club properties.  The long-range planning committee welcomes your ideas and we ask that you submit your suggestions to the committee.  We would like to report back to the board and general membership at the annual meeting in August.  We thank you for your participation.  Suggestions can be mailed to the Cinosam Club, PO Box 2851 Baxter MN 56425 or emailed to Jarrett.leas@kljeng.com.
